I'm testing minimart, have added a couple of items to list. when I add item to cart it has price of $10 + %15 tax which gives total of $11.50 but the grand total shows $14.73.Can someone advise where the extra $3.23 is coming from & how to stop it.

It meeds more details. Maybe you set tax rate twice: for each item of the category, and general tax rate for total of the order.
