Discounts

There are 4 types of discounts in IPrice minimart:
  1. Global discount on order.
  2. Discount on item.
  3. Cumulative discount on order.
  4. Accrual of accumulative bonuses from each payd order.

Global discount on order

The global discount on the order allows you to specify the discount on the entire order depend on total order amount or total quantity of ordered items. This discount is set in the general settings of the component in the "Discounts" tab. The global discount can be individualized for each of the 5 user groups. The global discount can be volumed (up to 5 volumes) depending on the total amount of the order or the total quantity of items in the order. The global discount on the order is calculated each time a product is added to the cart. The calculated discount amount can be displayed in the "Shopping cart" module, as well as on the checkout page.

Example.You need configure the global discount on order: when ordering in the amount of $100 - 5% discount, when ordering in the amount of $200 - 10% discount, when ordering in the amount of $300 - 15%. Follow the steps below:

1. Add a preconfigured discount using discount mananager in backend. Set the name of the discount, for example "Global discount on the order". Specify "Kind" - "Percent", specify "Type" (discount depends on) - "by amount". Set up the discount volumes: "Value from" - 100, "Discount/surcharge" -5 (for a discount, be sure to specify the amount with a negative value); "Value from" - 200, "Discount/surcharge" -10 and so on.

2. In the general settings of the component on the "Discount" tab, select value "Global discount on the order" for the parameter "Global discount". For each of the 5 user groups, you can assign your own pre-configured global discount on the order.

Discount on item

Discount on the item is applied immediately when displaying the price of the item. If a volumed discount is assigned to the item, the price of the item is recalculated "on the fly" depending on the quantity of item selected by the user. You can specyfy a predefined discount for the item using Item manager in backend of the component, on the tab "Discounts". You can specify a discount for each item of the category using Category manager, on the tab "Discounts". If a discount for an item and a discount for a category are specified at the same time, then the item discount will override the category discount. You can specify a separate item discount for each of the 5 user groups.

Example 1.You need configure the fixed discount 10% for each item of the category. Follow the steps below:

1. Add a preconfigured discount using discount mananager in backend. Set the name of the discount, for example "Discount 10%". Specify "Kind" - "Percent", specify "Type" (discount depends on) - "by quantity". Set up the discount volumes: "Value from" - 0, "Discount/surcharge" -10 (for a discount, be sure to specify the amount with a negative value).

2. Go to Category manager. Open the category for editing and select "Discounts" tab. Specify the parameter "Discount/surcharge" to the value "Discount 10%" (predefined discount confugured in previous step). Also you can specify different preconfigured discounts for each of 5 user groups.

Example 2.You need configure the volumed discount for the item: when the user select the item quantity more than 2, then discount is 5%, when the user select the item quantity more than 5, then discount is 10% . Follow the steps below:

1. Add a preconfigured discount using discount mananager in backend. Set the name of the discount, for example "Volumed discount (from 2 - 5%, from 5 - 10%)". Specify "Kind" - "Percent", specify "Type" (discount depends on) - "by quantity". Set up the discount volumes: "Value from" - 2, "Discount/surcharge" -5 (for a discount, be sure to specify the amount with a negative value); "Value from" - 5, "Discount/surcharge" -10.

2. Go to Item manager. Open the item for editing and select "Discounts" tab. Specify the parameter "Discount/surcharge" to the value "Volumed discount (from 2 - 5%, from 5 - 10%)" (predefined discount confugured in previous step). Also you can specify different preconfigured discounts for each of 5 user groups.

Cumulative discount on order

The cumulative discount on an order is similar to the global discount on an order, but takes into account the sum of all the previous paid orders of the user. Cumulative discount can be applied only for registered users.

Example.You need configure the cumulative discount: if the user has already paid for orders in the total amount of more than $1000, then discount on order is 5%; when total paid orders in the amount of $2000 - 10% discount on order. Follow the steps below:

1. Add a preconfigured discount using discount mananager in backend. Set the name of the discount, for example "Cumulative discount (from $1000 - 5%, from $2000 - 10%)". Specify "Kind" - "Percent", specify "Type" (discount depends on) - "by amount". Set up the discount volumes: "Value from" - 1000, "Discount/surcharge" -5 (for a discount, be sure to specify the amount with a negative value); "Value from" - 2000, "Discount/surcharge" -10.

2. In the general settings of the component on the "Discount" tab, select value "Global discount on the order" for the parameter "Cumulative discount".

Accumulative bonuses.

In the general settings of the component on the "Discount" tab, select value "Global discount on the order" for the parameter "Cumulative discount". When using bonuses, the user is charged a bonus amount as a percentage of the order amount from each paid order. The user can use his bonus account for full or partial payment of subsequent orders. The accrued bonus percentage is set in the general settings of the component in the "Discounts" tab, parameter "Bonus on the total order (%)". User-accessible bonuses are shown on the checkout page. To use bonuses, you need to add a bonus item with the type "Shipping item" in the "Shipping item manager".
